Environment Canada has issued a Special Weather Statement for Gananoque and nearby regions due to heavy rainfall expected today. The ground, already saturated, has limited capacity to absorb additional moisture, leading to potential localized flooding.
Rain, at times heavy, is expected to bring total rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm through early this morning. Freezing rain is forecast to transition to rain as temperatures rise above freezing, with rain tapering off from west to east later in the day.
Residents are advised to stay alert and monitor weather updates as conditions evolve throughout the morning. Ensure proper drainage and be cautious when traveling in areas prone to flooding.
