On February 8th, 2025, the community is invited to tap their toes and contribute to a great cause when Chris Hum, the Shantyman, performs at the Joshua Bates Centre. The concert, which is a fundraiser for the G. Tackaberry & Family Home, will feature a selection of classic ‘50s and ‘60s songs. A minimum $10 donation per person is requested, and all proceeds will support the ongoing construction of the new long-term care facility, scheduled to open in August 2025.
Attendees will also have the chance to view renderings and get updates on the Maple View Landings Redevelopment Project, the largest capital construction project in Leeds and Grenville. The $86 million project aims to build a state-of-the-art six-wing building to replace the aging Maple View Lodge.
“We are thrilled to have Chris’s support for this important project,” said Doug Struthers, Fundraising Chair. “We’re $800,000 away from our goal, and every dollar counts.” The event will also feature a cash bar, 50/50 tickets, and a tap-to-donate option.
