The Town of Gananoque is celebrating Canada’s gold medal victory at the FISU World University Games in Italy. Canada triumphed over Japan in the quarterfinals, the U.S. in the semifinals, and Slovakia in the finals to claim the top spot.
Gananoque extends special congratulations to local contributors Brett Gibson, team administrator and coach, and Jamie Nicholl Carne, equipment manager, along with Nolan Hutcheson for their roles in this incredible achievement.
“We are so proud of Brett and Jamie for their dedication and hard work in helping Canada achieve this amazing win,” the town said in a statement.
The community joins in congratulating Team Canada on their success and looks forward to welcoming their hometown heroes back.
