The Brockville & District Hospital Foundation held its inaugural MEDtalks session on January 21 at the Aquatarium, drawing an engaged audience eager to learn more about local healthcare services. The event featured insights from key healthcare professionals on topics such as emergency department procedures, the triage system, wait times, and alternative care options.
Speakers included Julie Caffin, CEO of Brockville General Hospital, who addressed efforts to reduce emergency department congestion, and Deanne Henson, Director of Patient Care Programs, who explained the triage process. Other panelists discussed community-based care, follow-up services, and pharmacy options for minor ailments and medication management.
Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions, fostering meaningful conversations about healthcare resources in the region.
