Gananoque Police received a report on January 14th, of an assault that took place on January 11th.
The complainant reported that a family member had grabbed them by the throat and held a knife to it.
Following the investigation, a 43-year-old Gananoque resident was arrested and charged with Assault with a Weapon and Uttering Threats to Cause Death or Bodily Harm.
The accused was taken into custody and held for a show cause bail hearing.
The police continue to investigate the incident, and the accused will appear in court to answer to the charges.
The identity of the victim has not been released, and no further details are available at this time.
