Leeds County OPP have arrested three individuals after a traffic stop on Highway 401 near Gananoque on January 16, 2025. Officers stopped a speeding vehicle eastbound between Highway 137 and Gananoque and discovered the driver was breaching release conditions. Upon searching the vehicle, police found a loaded handgun that had been converted to automatic firing, two prohibited ammunition magazines, and over one kilogram of suspected cocaine, MDMA, and other illegal substances.
Misha’al Kamil Alshammiry, 36, Adam Olow, 28, and Dianna Nguyen, 32, all from Ottawa, face numerous charges, including possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, trafficking drugs, and possession of prohibited ammunition. Kamil Alshammiry also faces charges for violating a firearm prohibition order and failing to comply with a release order. Olow is additionally charged with obstructing a peace officer and personation.
All three individuals were held in custody and appeared for a bail hearing on January 17, 2025, in Brockville.
