The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has announced a third-quarter payment of $211,286 each to the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands and the Town of Gananoque for hosting Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands. This payment covers the period from October 1 to December 31, 2024.
So far, in OLG’s fiscal year (April 1, 2024, to March 31, 2025), both communities have received $739,759 each. Since the casino opened in June 2002, the two municipalities have received a total of $33,387,706.
These payments, based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue, support local infrastructure projects and programs that benefit residents. Steve Clark, Member of Provincial Parliament for Leeds–Grenville–Thousand Islands and Rideau Lakes, emphasized the significant impact of these funds. “OLG’s Municipality Contribution Agreement payments help build critical infrastructure and fund important programs, improving the well-being of our communities,” Clark said.
Shorelines Casino also supports local employment and economic activity, benefiting the region as a whole.
