Canada Post resumed full operations this week after disruptions, with mail and parcel processing back online Wednesday afternoon. Post offices are open, and Canadians can now send and receive letters and packages. Items held during the strike will be available for pickup until December 31.
Processing is being done on a “first-in, first-out” basis, prioritizing older items. On-time delivery guarantees are suspended as Canada Post works to stabilize operations across its extensive network of plants, depots, and post offices. Customers should expect delivery delays through the rest of December and into January 2025.
Small businesses can drop off parcels at post offices, mailboxes, or other Canada Post facilities starting December 19. Commercial customers can also resume scheduled pickups and drop-offs that day.
International mail services are catching up, with new shipments accepted from December 23. For updates, visit canadapost.ca. Canada Post thanks Canadians for their patience during this time.
