The Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal single-vehicle collision involving an all-terrain vehicle (ATV) near the Gananoque River. On October 12th just after 9:00 a.m., officers responded to reports of an overturned ATV at the intersection of Turn Around Road and Maple Grove Road.
Leeds OPP, assisted by the Leeds and Thousand Islands Fire Department and Leeds and Grenville Paramedics, discovered the driver, a 64-year-old local male, deceased at the scene. The driver’s identity has not been released.
The cause and time of the collision are still undetermined. OPP Collision Reconstructionists, Technical Traffic Collision Investigators, the Office of the Chief Coroner, and the Office of Forensic Pathology are continuing the investigation.
