During the phase of totality, Sandavoy says there’s also a sideshow taking place.

The planets Venus and Jupiter along with some bright stars will be visible. Sandavoy says a comet may also be viewable with binoculars (which should only be used during the period of totality.)

Sandavoy says it’s also important to have clear sight lines.
