The Minister of Education is hoping to attract more Early Childhood Educators to Ontario
The province has unveiled what they’ve dubbed as an historic Child Care Workforce Strategy to revolutionize early childhood education. Fueled by funding from the Canada-Ontario Canada-wide Early Learning and Child Care Agreement, the strategy addresses crucial issues.
Minister of Education Stephen Leece shared some of the details.
Registered Early Childhood Educators (RECEs) will witness a significant wage increase, aiming to recruit and retain skilled educators. The government emphasized child safety, mandating licensed child care operators to implement a Safe Arrival and Dismissal Policy by January 1, 2024.
Minister Lecce said the policy is consistent with that already in place in elementary schools.
These protective measures align with existing protocols and aim to prevent tragic incidents.
