A successful learning initiative focused on entrepreneurship, culinary and sustainable food practices, was launched this year by students at Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School.
Wicked Whisk was created by students in Grade 9-12, who participated in the Specialist High Skills Major courses.
Students began harvesting vegetables through the hospitality class.
From there the students in the media studies looked at ways to market the products, while construction students crafted charcuterie boards to be used at an event, then auctioned off.
The Wicked Whisk company has already seen success, raising over $4000 at the UCDSB Champions For Kids Gala, one of the many events students hosted this year.
