An 84 year old man from Lanark proved that it’s never too late to get your high school diploma. Gordon Wallbank earned his high school diploma a month ago after dropping out in Grade 9, when his father told him to start working to make money. Wallbank said back then education was not a priority but when he decided to go back, he had a lot of encouragement from family. Wallbank earned his diploma through the TR Leger School of Adult Education in Lanark. Before getting his diploma Wallbank worked for the National Film Board of Canada for 33 years, moved to Lanark, where he drove a school bus until retiring in 2019.
