Tourism leaders gathered at ArBru Solar Brewery in Front of Yonge to launch the 2025 1000 Islands Rideau Canal Waterways Self-Guided Driving Adventures brochure and campaign. Now featuring over 65 stops, the series invites visitors to explore themed routes including gardens, foodie shops, cafes, and the newly announced “Bottle and Barrel” Adventure. This latest addition highlights 10 local businesses offering craft beer, cider, wine, and spirits.
Warden Corinna Smith-Gatcke called the initiative a strong example of local collaboration supporting economic growth. Leeds Grenville Economic Development Manager Ann Weir emphasized the importance of tourism in boosting local business, especially with rising domestic travel and returning American visitors.
Each participating site is marked with an “Adventures” window sticker or garden flag, making it easy for travellers to build personalized routes. The region hopes to become a year-round destination offering high-quality, authentic experiences shaped by the people who live and work there
