An impaired driver was arrested during a RIDE (Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere) check conducted by Frontenac OPP on the Highway 401 on-ramp at Montreal Street in Kingston.
The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on April 19, 2025, when officers detected alcohol on a driver’s breath during a roadside stop. The driver failed a roadside alcohol screening device (ASD) test and was arrested on the spot.
29 year old, Sarah Ann Rolfe of South Frontenac Township, was charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration over 80. She was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Rolfe was released from custody with a court date scheduled for May 27, 2025, at the Ontario Court of Justice in Kingston. In addition to the charge, her driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and her vehicle was impounded for seven days.
Police continue to remind drivers of the serious consequences of impaired driving.
