The United Counties of Leeds and Grenville will begin roadside weed control between May 20 and June 20, 2025, weather permitting. Wagar and Corput Weed Control Inc. has been contracted to spray pesticides along select County Roads (18–25, 43, and 44), Township Roads in several municipalities, and all County guide rails except those in Rideau Lakes.
Pesticides to be used include ClearView Herbicide, Navius FLEX, and Gateway Adjuvant, which contain active ingredients registered under the Pest Control Products Act (Canada). This program is permitted under the public health and safety exception of Ontario’s Pesticides Act.
Residents seeking more information, including how to request a “No Spray” zone in front of their property, can contact the Counties or Wagar and Corput directly. Full details, including maps of targeted roads, are available at www.leedsgrenville.com under Government > Divisions > Public Works > Weed Control.
