The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) has issued a fourth-quarter payment of $198,543 to the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands and the Town of Gananoque for hosting Shorelines Casino Thousand Islands. This brings the total payment for the 2024-2025 fiscal year to $938,302 for each municipality. Since the casino’s opening in 2002, both communities have collectively received over $33.5 million in gaming revenue.
These payments are part of a formula applied across Ontario’s gaming sites, based on a graduated scale of gaming revenue. MPP Steve Clark emphasized that the funds strengthen the community by supporting local priorities and programs.
Since 1994, host communities in Ontario have received nearly $2.5 billion in non-tax gaming revenue, with proceeds contributing to infrastructure development, job creation, and economic growth. OLG continues to reinvest 100% of its profits back into the province, benefiting local communities
