A mix of ice pellets and freezing rain is expected tonight through Thursday morning, with ice accretion of 2-5 mm possible. Roads, sidewalks, and parking lots may become icy and slippery, posing hazards for travel. Tree damage is also a concern due to ice buildup.
In addition, heavy rain (15-25 mm) is forecast, further saturating already wet ground and increasing the risk of localized flooding. Easterly winds gusting up to 50 km/h may worsen conditions.
As temperatures rise overnight, freezing rain will transition to rain, which will taper off Thursday morning. Residents should exercise caution and stay updated on weather alerts.
