The Town of Gananoque is urging residents and motorists to exercise caution as falling ice and tree limbs pose a hazard in the area.
The town warns that ice is falling from overhead wires, trees, and structures like traffic lights and streetlights, with tree limbs becoming heavier and falling more rapidly as the ice melts.
To ensure safety, residents are advised to avoid stopping under traffic signals or light poles while driving and to refrain from walking under trees, wires, or streetlight fixtures.
The town also encourages delaying brush cleanup efforts until the ice has fully melted. Crews are working diligently to address hazards, but cleanup will take time.
Residents are reminded to stay vigilant and prioritize safety in these conditions.
