A 31-year-old Cornwall man is facing several charges after an incident at a Tim Hortons in Brockville on Monday.
Police say the man allegedly threw a rock through the restaurant’s window on Parkedale Avenue around 7 a.m. Later that morning, at about 11 a.m., staff called police again after he returned and was found sleeping at a table.
Officers arrested the man and discovered he had outstanding warrants in Cornwall. During a search, police say he was found with a butterfly knife while already on probation.
Further investigation linked him to an attempted truck theft from Wills Transfer Limited earlier that morning. Police say the truck was started and moved but got stuck before reaching the roadway.
The man was charged with motor vehicle theft, possession of a prohibited weapon, mischief under $5,000, and probation violations. He was held for a bail hearing.
