The Council of the Town of Gananoque has authorized the purchase of a 2025 Ford F-150 Responder pick-up truck through the Provincial Emergency Services Cooperative Purchasing Group (PCPG), as detailed in Council Report FIRE-2025-03. The decision was unanimously carried by those voting.
The PCPG, a committee of the Ontario Association of Chiefs of Police (OACP), has negotiated competitive pricing for emergency vehicles, benefiting police, fire, and ambulance services in Ontario. The new Ford F-150, which will be purchased using 2025 capital funds, comes equipped with numerous safety features, saving additional costs compared to standard builds.
Once purchased, the vehicle will be outfitted with lights, sirens, radios, and lettering as per the town’s Procurement By-law. The truck will serve as a dedicated response vehicle, enhancing emergency services for the community. This purchase aligns with the town’s commitment to openness and transparency in governance.
