Three individuals are facing robbery charges after a violent incident in Brockville’s south end on March 20th. At approximately 11:00 a.m., Brockville Police responded to a call reporting a female victim had been assaulted with a baseball bat and had personal items stolen at a residence on Buell Street. Officers contained the area as the suspects were believed to be inside.
The victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later released. Despite several hours of attempted negotiations by the Brockville Police Service Emergency Response Team, the suspects refused to surrender. With assistance from the Ontario Provincial Police Tactics and Rescue Unit, all parties were taken into custody around 9:30 p.m.
A portion of Buell Street was closed during the operation. Investigators believe the incident was targeted, and there is no further threat to public safety. Three suspects, ages 43, 36, and 32, are being held in custody pending a bail hearing.
