The Town of Gananoque is implementing a user-pay system for its curbside leaf and yard waste collection, set to run from April 14 to April 25, 2025. To improve cost efficiency, residents must now purchase $2.50 bag tags for each bag of yard waste placed at the curb. Bags must be in paper and weigh no more than 40 lbs. Tags can be purchased at Town Hall, White’s Grocery, Metro, and Home Hardware.
Residents who prefer not to pay for collection can dispose of bagged yard waste for free at the Public Works Yard on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Loose leaf or yard waste disposal will cost $40 per half-ton truckload.
Brush curbside collection remains free, with guidelines in place for proper stacking. For more information, residents can contact the Public Works Department at 613-382-2149 Ext. 1613 or via email at pwinfo@gananoque.ca.
