Starting March 31, 2025, Emterra Group will take over Gananoque’s recycling collection, bringing a few key changes for residents.
One of the most significant changes is the shift in collection days. Pickups will move forward by one day—Monday collections will now take place on Tuesdays, while Thursday collections will move to Fridays.
Recycling sorting remains the same, with residents continuing to separate Fibres and Containers on alternating weeks.

These changes are part of Ontario’s new recycling framework, which places the responsibility for funding and operating the system on the producers of recyclable materials. Emterra Group has been selected by these producers to manage collection in Gananoque.
