After many years of trying the hockey game everyone in the Town of Gananoque was wishing for took place, as the Gananoque Royals took on the Friends and Family of the late Gord Brown Thursday night at the GBM Canada 150 Rink.
It was a battle to the end in the 2 period game, with the Friends and Family of Gord Brown winning 8-7.
Both teams agreed on one thing, that Gord would have been happy to see the game, which has been in the works and went on as scheduled, despite winter storms across the region, that saw schools close for the day across Leeds and Grenville.
