The Canadian travel industry is one of many starting to see the effects of a Donald Trump Presidency, including the threat of tariffs.
According to the US Travel Association, with 20.4 million visits last year, Canadians make up the majority of international visits to the US.
Vice-President of Blowes Travel, Rob Blowes says travel agents are hearing stories from concerned Canadians who are rethinking their trips down south.
Blowes says it’s been a busy season for travel.
Blowes adds, the low Canadian dollar continues to be an issue as well.
Blowes says tariffs would result in an even LOWER dollar, so travel Stateside could be affected for a while.
He also has concerns about the travel industry as a whole, if tariffs are implemented.
