Minister of Public Safety David McGuinty and newly appointed Canada Fentanyl Czar Kevin Brosseau paid a visit to the Lansdowne Border crossing on Wednesday morning and toured the facility which saw major upgrades in 2017. After being appointed this week, Brosseau is ready to get going.
McGuinty spoke about Mr. Brosseau’s role as Fentanyl Czar.
McGuinty beileves Brosseau’s extensive U.S and Canada border experience will be key.
Brosseau talked about his main plan since being appointed.
Brosseau said he is looking forward to speaking with U.S Border Czar Tom Homan, a Northern New York native and working together to stop the Fentanyl crisis.

In 2024, the CBS in Ontario seized approximately 530 firearms and 7,300 prohibited weapons. The CBS in Ontario also seized approximately 32,200 kg of drugs, including 2,200 kg of cocaine and 200 g of fontanyl. plus an additional 24 litres of liguid drugs.

The CBSA seized approximately 930 firearms and 17,200 prohibited weapons nationally in 2024 Nationally.
