A pair of Canadian and World Champion skaters will be coming to Gananoque. Kurt Browning and Elvis Stojko will be at the Lou Jeffries Arena Wednesday through Friday for lessons and a meet and greet. Sharon Nixon from the Gananoque Skating Club Says Kurt wanted to make another Gan appearance, but wanted to bring a buddy.
Amanda Trafford, Economic and Communications Officer with the Town of Gananoque, says the excitement for their arrival is building.
Trafford says this is a big opportunity for the skaters to learn from these two greats of the sport.
Nixon talks about what will take place Thursday and Friday.
The public is invited to the arena Wednesday night from 7:30 to 9pm for a special meet and greet. The public is welcome to attend to watch the lessons Thursday and Friday as well. The event is also partially funded by the Municipal Accommodation Tax approved by the Tourism Advisory Panel and is free to attend.
