Township of Leeds and Thousand Islands Ward 2 Councilor Mark Jamison announced that he would resign from his seat effective December 31st. Council voted in favour of an open call of qualified applicants. Clerk Michelle Hannah discussed the timeine for this process.
The February 10th Council meeting would also see the swearing in ceremony of the new councilor. Other options for council included a direct appointment, an unsuccessful candidate from the 2022 Municipal Election or pass a bylaw to require a by-election.
