One man was arrested for alleged firearm possession in Brockville
On January 12, 2025, at approximately 2:00 AM, officers from the Kingston RCMP Border Integrity Detachment were patrolling in Brockville when they observed a disturbance outside The Bar on King Street West. A 31-year-old man, removed from the establishment following an altercation, was seen pulling a handgun from his waistband.
The man held the weapon briefly before attempting to discard it at the corner of King Street West and John Street upon noticing the RCMP officers. He was swiftly arrested, and the crime scene was secured for further investigation by the Brockville Police Service.
The man now faces multiple charges, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a firearm, and possession of a firearm with a tampered serial number. He remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.
