At a recent meeting, members of the Gananoque Town Council shared their committee updates and outlined key priorities for the second half of their term. Council members emphasized the importance of continuing fiscal responsibility while completing ongoing projects such as the East End Pumping Station and the King Street Pedestrian Bridge.
Economic development remains a focus, with plans to create more partnerships to support local growth. Other key priorities include programming for youth, addressing healthcare access through doctors and daycare, and prioritizing the Asset Management Plan. Council members also pledged to manage public expectations while maintaining transparency.
A new strategic plan, set to replace the current one which expires in 2025, is also in the works to guide the town’s future direction. These priorities reflect Council’s commitment to improving services and supporting long-term community goals.
