The Township of Elizabethtown-Kitley has announced the appointment of Dan Downey to the Office of Councillor for the remainder of the 2022-2026 term. Downey, who previously served on Council from 2010 to 2018, was sworn in during a ceremony on Monday evening.
Councillor Downey expressed his commitment to fiscal responsibility and strategic development, emphasizing goals to reduce debt, rebuild reserves, and support economic growth. A key initiative he highlighted is the development and marketing of industrial-zoned Township lands near County Roads 6 and 26. “It is my honor to serve our residents again,” said Downey.
Mayor Burrow welcomed Downey back, underscoring the importance of his experience and alignment with the Township’s strategic priorities. “Having a full team will help us achieve our ambitious goals,” said the Mayor.
The Township looks forward to Downey’s contributions as it focuses on sustainable growth and community development over the coming years
