Those who are in need of mental health and substance abuse treatment now have a safe and secure place to go in Kingston. The new Oakes Stabilization Facility located on Concession Street in the City, officially opened this week with a ribbon cutting ceremony. Mayor Bryan Paterson gave his thoughts on this new facility.
Paterson says the facility has a bright future.
The Mayor added that this is a long time coming.
The program offers 18 beds with private bathrooms, communal kitchen, dining and lounging area. Program participants will officially move into the new facility in January of 2025.
