The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued a recall for several brands of carrot products due to possible E. coli contamination.
The recall affects baby and whole organic carrot from brands including Compliments Organic, PC Organics, Cal-Organic, and Bunny-Luv, with best-before dates ranging from August 14 to November 2.
The CFIA says the recall was prompted by a similar alert issued by Grimmway Farms, a U.S.-based producer supplying the affected Canadian brands. At least 39 people have become sick, and one person has died as a result.
Consumers are advised to discard these products or return them to the store where they were purchased. For more details, visit the CFIA website.
