Gananoque Intermediate and Secondary School is honoring alumnus and long time friend George Funnel. Since his passing the school has been working on honoring his legacy and is doing this through the newly formed George Funnel Scholarship Fund.
This will be awarded each year to a graduating student who has a strong rapport with fellow students and staff at BSS and is not mark-based.
The school is also looking to put together a display of pictures and memorabilia of George to put in a display cabinet in the main hallway of the school.
The projects will last until May 2nd but donations to either project will be accepted at anytime.
GSS staff say Funnel was an integral part of the school community and touched many lives.
