If you’re using ECLIPSE glasses for viewing on Monday – Queens University assistant professor of engineering, physics and astronomy Sarah Sandavoy talks about best practices.
Sandavoy says you can also view the eclipse indirectly
During the phase of totality, Sandavoy says there’s also a sideshow taking place.
The planets Venus and Jupiter along with some bright stars will be visible. Sandavoy says a comet may also be viewable with binoculars (which should only be used during the period of totality.)
Sandavoy says it’s also important to have clear sight lines.
Queens University is sending information ambassadors to several eclipse viewing areas in the Kingston area. Those locations can be found on the University website.
