For the first time in its history, the Gananoque Islanders are Eastern Ontario Super Hockey League Champions.
Here’s how it sounded on EOSHL TV, as the Isles took last night’s deciding game 5 in Chesterville.
Make the final 4-2.
Gananoque Goaltender Jake Kment, who made 40 saves in the game, told EOHSL TV the fans who made the trip to support the team didn’t go unnoticed.
Gananoque got two goals from Kevin Domingue, and one each from Ben Blasko, Brock Higgs.
Kment was named the game’s first star, Higss the second, and the Rockets’ Chris Kushneriuk the third.
This is Gananoque’s first league Championship in three trips to the finals. The Rockets were two time defending Champs.
