The Gananoque Police Service is asking residents to stay off the ice, especially around the Marina.
They say that even with the colder weather, the ice may seem safe but it is not.
They ask that we speak to our kids about the dangers, especially in light of the tragedy at Charleston Lake.
Three hikers fell through the ice on Sunday. One made it to safety while the other two drowned.
Police and other first responders are reminding us that no ice is safe ice. It’s best to stay off of it.
