A 31 year old inmate at Collins Bay Institution has been charged with many offences after assaulting a Correctional Services Canada Officer.
The incident occurred on December 13th at the Bath Road facility in Kingston and the victim was transported to local hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
The accused was charged with offences, which include Assault Peace Officer with a Weapon.
Josias GOMEZ-MOREIRA, age 31, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada (CCC) with the following offences:
- Aggravated Assault of a Peace Officer With a Weapon – section 270.02
- Assault a Peace Officer With a Weapon – section 270.01(1)(a)
- Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose – section 88
- Carrying a Concealed Weapon – section 90
