Police in Kingston are warning the public to be on the lookout for counterfeit money after several counterfeit $20 bills were used for purchases.
Police say they were notified on November 12th about an individual using one of the bills at a restaurant.
Another bill was used at a store on Princess Street on November 28th. The accused then paid for a pizza delivery the same day with another fake bill in the Kingscourt area.
Police are advising that all the counterfeit currency that was used had the same serial number #JE62455000B. Additionally, all the counterfeit United States bills were in twenty-dollar denominations. There may be other counterfeit twenty-dollar United States bills circulating in the community with this same serial number and police are advising local businesses to be on the lookout for this fraudulent currency. The 30 year old was located, arrested and charged with four counts of utter counterfeit money.
