
Heroic actions by five people at the Brockville YMCA on April 2nd, resulted in a life saved and their actions being recognized.
MP Michael Barrett recognized the efforts by Timothy Williams, Ava Nordin, Braelyn Hunter, Mylene Arsenault and Beth Typhair, for saving a young woman who was unresponsive in the pool.
All five were able to get the woman out of the water and performed needed first aid until responder arrived on the scene.
“I am honoured to have Timothy, Ava, Braelyn, Beth, and Mylène here to extend a heartfelt thank you for the incredibly selfless and heroic actions that helped save a life that day. In a terrifying situation where every single second counts, their exceptional life-saving efforts and heroism deserve to be commended.
They are heroes in my eyes, they are heroes to our community, and we are deeply relieved for the happy outcome that was possible because of what they did. Their heroic actions along with the team of outstanding first responders, paramedics, police service, and fire department prevented a tragedy and saved a life that day,” said MP Barrett.
