Over 170 Grade 9, 10 and 11 students at Thousand Islands Secondary School in Brockville took part in a weeklong Specialist High Skills Majors program, which covered arts and culture, health and wellness, hospitality and tourism and manufacturing.
The specialized program allows students to gain credits towards their diploma and also earn industry certification like First Aid and CPR. Each session and workshop ranged from two hours to a full day.
All students who completed workshops received a credit towards earning their SHSM red seal.
