Alzheimer’s can cause memory and thinking ability to deteriorate over time and the Alzheimer’s Society of Lanark Leeds and Grenville are recognizing January as Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. myFM spoke with Education and Support Coordinator Sean McFadden, who tells us about this year’s theme.

Some of the warning signs of Alzheimer’s is short term memory loss along with repeating the same questions. McFadden says you can drop by their office at 100 Strowger Boulevard in Brockville to get more information. Several events are planned throughout the month including January 20th at the Smiths Falls Community Hall and Coffee and Cupcakes at the Brockville Library on January 25th, both from 10am until 12:30pm. The theme for this year is in Ontario is Support Knowledge and Community Changes Everything.
