It’s Hidden Gems Day on 99.9 myFM. We spoke with 17 year old local entrepreneur Arianna Bennett. Starting her own business selling shaved ice and cotton candy and learning how to do it right was something Bennett had always dreamed about growing up. She says some of the biggest challenges about starting your own business is social media and some of the false information you can pick up. She added that she tries to avoid all of that and focus on the task at hand. Bennett says one of her biggest influences in starting her own business was watching her sister sell tattoo cream that she would sell to tattoo parlors. She said it was amazing to watch her do what she did and wanted to follow in her footsteps. She says confidence in your product and your skills is very key and if you’re not confident then your business won’t go far. Her post-secondary education involves getting a biology degree and then working to become a pediatrician. Bennett says that she has big plans and won’t stop until she accomplishes her goals.
