Gananoque native and a veteran of 46 years in local sports broadcasting will sign off for the final time on CKWS News on June 15th. Doug Jeffries, who began his career in sports radio on CKLC in Kingston will be retiring this week. We spoke with Doug, who said he has enjoyed living his dream.

Doug said he will have a clear mind come Thursday morning of this week.

Doug said he still enjoys what he does, but he said it’s time to enjoy life with the family
Jeffries began his journey on CKLC radio as the sports anchor for 23 years before joining CKWS 23 years ago as the lead anchor on the television side. He plans on taking it easy on Thursday morning (June 16th) and heading to the golf course, to chase that first ever hole in one.
