Even still being at St. Lawrence College, Morgan Bell knew that Community Living was where she wanted to be. Now being with Community Living for just over a year, Bell says she has gotten so much out of this experience. Bell says that helping someone with something simple, could totally make their day which is something she loves to do. One of the challenges she describes that has made things difficult is the COVID-19 pandemic. She says many of the people she works with have goals that they want to achieve and she says that the staff at Community Living are continuously working to help them pursue these goals to the best of their ability. Bell says many people have come to her recently and asked how they can become involved and help give back. Bell simply says, “Jump on it!” especially with the current Best Buddy system that Community Living has in place which allows people to interact with one another in a virtual setting for now but once restrictions are lifted, the Best Buddy system will allow volunteers to become more involved, such as hanging out playing sports and things of that nature. Her biggest accomplishment so far is to keep the guys she works with happy and content each day. The full interview with myFM’s Tim Baltz can be heard by clicking the link below.
