From an early age Colleen Kelly Jansen has been around people with intellectual disabilities. Jansen says her parents were part of a movement to get children with intellectual disabilities into school to get an education. From there Jansen became involved with many different communities in Alberta and Ontario. She believes that leadership is her best quality and wants her staff to have as much knowledge as possible. Watching and seeing the evolution of the services in Community Living. The former Executive Director of the Gananoque office, says she really enjoyed the the time before going to Kingston. She says one of the toughest parts about her job is to balance all the current rules and regulations along with personal support services. The one piece of advice Jansen does have for anyone looking to become involved with Community Living is to simply believe in your values and support others who have like-minded ideas.
