Owning a business is tough during the pandemic which is what the owner of Tommy’s Restaurant in Kingston, Tommy Hunter, has experienced lately. The start of the pandemic saw him and his team do the mandatory shutdown and Hunter said he made sure his family at the restaurant was well taken care of but felt he could do more. Hunter and his manager began cooking meals for those in need and since the start of the pandemic, have exceeded 2900 prepared meals. Hunter says him and his team have adjusted to the rules and regulations and says he has been able to keep his staff which is something he is proud of. Recently many changes have taken place. Hunter has become a father of a baby girl recently and along with being a parent, he has also launched the new Smoke and Barrel restaurant in the City, which Hunter says has been a battle during the pandemic times. Hunter says community support along with his team at both restaurants and his new family at home, are what keeps him motivated each and everyday.
