The final phase of the Boathouse is well underway and scheduled to be completed in the spring of 2020.
The Thousand Island Boat Museum has released an update on funding for the structure in Gananoque.
The total cost of Phase 3 for building the structure is set to come in at $1,000,900.
Heritage Canada has come through with a grant of $448,000 and the Thousand Island Boat Museum is now looking to raise the required match in funds.
The boathouse will provide protection for boats, heritage artifacts and content… and it will all be displayed under a roof, while over the water.
The structure is designed to offer protection from the elements for antiques so future generations can enjoy them.
