TOBACCO AND MARIJUANA SEIZED AT JOYCEVILLE INSTITUTION
Correctional Service Canada has stopped about $12,500 dollars worth of contraband from entering Joyceville institution. On July 6th staff members confiscated multiple packages containing contraband and unauthorized items from a visitor in the Assessment Unit. They seized 78 grams of Tobacco and nearly 48 grams of Marijuana. The visitor was arrested by the Ontario Provincial Police Penitentiary Squad and may face criminal charges. CSC continues to strengthen measures to prevent contraband from entering its prisons by working with police to take action against those who attempt bring contraband into correctional institutions.
